Sierra Leone: Wide Gender Gap Worries HRC

Freetown — Chairperson of the Human Rights Commission of Sierra Leone (HRC-SL) has expressed his institution's fears over what he referred to as the widening gap between men and women in the fields of political representation and employment, among others.

Speaking at the opening of a dialogue forum on the development of a National Human Rights Action Plan organized by HRC-SL, Commissioner Edward Sam said: "The widening gap and gross inequality between men and women and the widespread discrimination against women is unacceptable."
