Gambia: Journalist Malik Jones Writes to the President

Malik Jones , the officer in charge of current affairs, documentary and sports at the Gambia Radio and Television Services (GRTS Radio), has written a 'thank you' letter to the President, His Excellency Sheik Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh, following his successful coverage of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

The full text of GRTS sports anchormanÂ's letter reads: "It is with pleasure that I write you this letter just to inform you that a gallant soldier has gone to the war front and has returned. My coverage of the World Cup for the BBC was an undertaking for my beloved country, the Gambia. I hope that I have been able to may my fellow citizens proud and to realize that under your dynamic leadership all is possible if we commit ourselves to serve our country. Excellency I wish to thank you personally for opening the doors for all hard working Gambians to excel.
