Nigeria: Power - FG Targets 7, 000 Megawatts By April

Abuja — Federal Government has projected a power generation capacity of 6,939 megawatts by April next year and 14,019 megawatts by December 2013, with President Goodluck Jonathan approving the construction of a $3.5 billion (N525billion) National SuperGrid over the next four years.

This emerged at the Presidential Villa on Tuesday during a meeting of the Presidential Action Committee on Power, which the President chairs, and where it was announced that he will on August 26 present to the private sector a new roadmap for the reformation of the nation's power sector.
