Rwanda/Burundi: As Kigali to Tour Burundi for Preseason

Kigali — Rwanda's national women league champions, AS Kigali will play two friendly matches against Burundian giants Le Colombe and Etoile football Club as part of their preparation for the start of the new season which is scheduled to start in October.

The Kigali City Council side's head coach, Grace Nyinawumuntu told Times Sport yesterday that her team will start pre-season training early next month before traveling to Bujumbura.

"As usual we want to start pre-season training early so that the players are in good shape for the start of the new season.

"We will also travel to Burundi to play two friendlies against their top two sides and I believe after that, the players will be ready for the new season," said Nyinawumuntu.

Meanwhile, The AS Kigali tactician confirmed that she is looking to add at least five new players as she seeks to win the league title for the season in a row.

"I have already signed a midfielder-Nadia Uwineza from Aspej and am now looking for two defenders and two strikers," noted the former Rwanda's U-20 women coach.

Ten teams are expected to take part in the league and they are; AS Kigali, APR, Musanze, Aspej, Bugesera, Rayon Sport, Inyemera, Les Lioness, Rubavu and La Jeunesse.
