THE proposed new measure that the President henceforth appoint regional governors 'at his pleasure' really doesn't make much sense to me.
I'm trying to put my finger on the precise raison d'être behind this move, but aside from more centralisation of power in the executive, I'm at something of a loss as to why this has suddenly become so important to be looked at in isolation from the rather unhappy regional governance setup in general.
