Luanda — Mozambican war vets minister, Mateus Oscar Kidas, today left Luanda back to his country at the end of a five day visit to Angola.
During the mozambican minister discussed with his angolan counterpart, gen Kundi Paihama, issues related to war vets legislation, organizationg, functioning and assistance in both countries.
The angolan war vets ministry controls 170,000 war vets, including war disableds, widows and orphans of war, the angolan minister said, while his mozambican counterpart summed up 61, 000 former freedom fighters.
Mateus Kidas was also audienced by the angolan vice-president, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos and visited the "Kussanguluka" housing project, in Viana, and the Kifangondo Historic Site, in Cacuaco, north of Luanda.
The "Kussanguluka" housing project expexcts the construction of 600 homes for war vets, while the Kifangondo historic site is a symbol of the struggle for national independence conquered in November 11, 1975.
The mozambican minister also met defense minister, Candido Pereira Van-Dunem, and representatives of several angolan associations of war vets.
