Uganda: Pader Officer Arrested Over Bribe

Kampala — The Pader district water officer, Francis Otto, was on Wednesday arrested by the Anti-Corruption Police for bribery.

Otto was netted while handing over a sh2m bribe to the Gulu Inspectorate Officer, Michael Tumukurate, to drop a case against him. He was arrested at Pearl Afrique Hotel in Gulu town. The northern regional inspectorate officer, Daniel Lutuu, said Otto is being probed for allegedly awarding district tenders to his two companies.
