Uganda: Voters Register Now Online

Kampala — THE national voters register is now available online. The public can access it by logging on to the Electoral Commission's website at www.ec.or.ug. A link appears at the top right-hand side of the website in bigger, bold font.

One has to follow simple steps that involve filling in the name of a district, constituency, sub-county, parish and polling station to get the register.

The register is presented in form of a PDF document, which can be downloaded and saved.

Deputy Electoral Commission chairperson Joseph Biribonwa said the initiative is intended to ease access for people who have Internet facilities.

The technology will complement the ongoing exercise of displaying the voters' register at various polling centres across the country, he said.
