Kigali — FLAVIER Ndamukunda and Jean Luc Mbonyuwontuma's beach volleyball dominance was finally halted on Sunday reports Ostine Arinaitwe.

The Rwandan pair, which was far from its best, succumbed to a straight sets (9-21, 11-21) defeat against Trevor Ntwari and Germain Munani of Burundi.

It was a wake up call for the pair, which dominated the 2009 Mombassa International Beach Volleyball tournament.

Else where, Dorcus Ndasaba and Judith Hakizimana out-muscled Providence Mukamurenzi and Anne Umutesi in straight sets (21-13, 21-10) in an all-Rwandan final.

Jean Paul Mana and Jean Luc Ndayikengurukiye also held off a late scare to secure a 2-0 (21-19, 23-21) win over Alex Mbaraga and Vedaste Ntanteteli in the veteran's category.

While the winners pocketed Rwf180, 000, the 2nd, 3rd and 4th teams bagged Rwf0.1m, Rwf60,000 and Rwf40,000 respectively courtesy of Lotto Rwanda and Bralirwa.
