The third edition of Miss Burundi is underway in Bujumbura, organised by journalists turned event organiser and owner of the Miss Burundi franchise Chantal Inamahoro.

The 19 finalists, representatives chosen from Burundi's 17 provinces having already been selected. This edition is similar to the second in that the majority of the provinces in Bujumbura are represented.

The first edition did not have representation from the other 16 provinces of Burundi. Having been the premier contest, the organisers did not have the sponsorship to go upcountry and organise the selection contests. Even the prizes for the winners were not as good. the winner of the contest got a set of chairs. The second edition was much better sponsored and the winner got a ticket to her destination of choice. She is currently touring the USA.

The third edition also faced some hiccups because this was an election year. However, selections were still done, albeit remotely. Most of the 19 contestants for this years competition are students.

The main sponsors for this competition are Hotel Club Du Lac Tanganyika, which will host the girls for two weeks prior to the competition. The main competition date is set for December 14, 2010.
