LUMEZI Member of Parliament Isaac Banda has expressed happiness at the completion of a clinic at Kapheta Village in Chieftainess Mwasemphangwe's area.
When he toured the clinic on Sunday, Mr Banda, who is Eastern Province Minister, said he was happy that the contractor had speeded up the completion of the clinic, including a house for a clinical officer.
Last year, Government allocated K370 million towards the construction of the clinic and the contractor resumed the construction works early this year.
Mr Banda said the clinic would benefit many local people who had been travelling longer distances to seek medical attention.
"The only clinics available are Apollo and Vizenge which are quite a distance and I am glad that the project has been completed," he said.
Mr Banda also said a number of projects in the constituency were still in progress, inspired by the leadership of President Rupiah Banda.
He was happy that Mwasemphangwe, Lumezi and Chikomeni depots had a lot of stocks of maize bought by the Food Reserve Agency.
And Wachitangachi Ward Councillor, Thumbiko Nyirongo praised the Government for the development projects initiated in his ward.
