Uganda: Rwandans Eager to Turn Tables in Open

Kampala — In a bid to boost the chances of one of their golfers capturing a maiden Uganda Open title, Rwanda will engage Uganda in two 72-hole friendly contests ahead of the sport's top event next week.

Action will be at the Uganda Golf Club. Uganda Golf Union secretary Johnson Omollo confirmed that the Rwandans arrive this Saturday. The visitors will take on the domestic players in the build up to the Uganda Open that tees off on next Thursday.

Top golfers from Kigali including Stephen Katwiremu, David Kashaka and James Semwanga will battle the defending champion Emmanuel Mwesigwa of Uganda in the amateurs category of the Uganda Open. The other group from Kigali including Emmanuel Ruterana and Jean Claude Baptista will be looking for glory in the professionals category.
