Nigeria: Pay Nitel Workers From $2.5 Billion Privatisation Fund, By CNPP

Abuja — THE Conference of Nigeria Political Parties, CNPP, yesterday faulted report of reactivated presidential task force which asked the Federal Government to raised bonds to finance the settlement of workers of NITEL/MTEL.

The CNPP, instead, demanded that the workers should be paid out of the $2.5 billion from the bidding exercise where a preferred bidder had emerged and a recommendation made that they be given offer letter to pay.

National Publicity Secretary of CNPP, Mr. Osita Okechukwu, who made the remarks yesterday called on President Goodluck Jonathan to save the lives of NITEL/MTEL workers by authorizing the issue of offer letter to the winners of the bid round.
