Rwanda/Eritrea: U-17s Lose to Eritrea

THE U-17s' fairytale run in the Cecafa U-20 championship came to an end after yesterday's 1-0 semi-final defeat against hosts Eritrea.

Richard Tardy's boys trailed Eritrea in the first half but tried to fight back only to have their goal disallowed with two minutes of normal time to play.

However, going by Tardy's remarks on the eve of the semi-final, the youngsters will return with their heads up after what was a spirited display.

After losing to Uganda, the team picked up four points following a draw against Zanzibar (1-1) and a 1-0 win against Yemen.

The team can still pocket $3000 which has been reserved for the third place play-off winners.
