Angola: Burundian Head of State Takes Oath

Luanda — The elected-president of Burundi, Pierre Nkurunziza, Thursday in Bujumbura, promised to dignify the nation, fulfil and enforce the country's Constitution.

Pierre Nkurunziza promised so during the swearing in ceremony as president in Bujumbura, the country's capital, before hundreds of national and foreign guests, amongst the deputy president of Republic of Angola, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos.

Nkurunziza was re-elected in June this year for the second five-year term.

The event was also attended by the head of state of Rwanda, Paul Kagame, whereas, Angola, Equatorial Guinea, DR Congo, Somalia, Nigeria, Tanzania, Kenya and China, among others, were represented by vice-presidents and ministers.
