Gambia: More Than One Tonne of Cannabis Seized

More than one tonne of suspected cannabis has been recovered in Seewol village in the Western Region by the military back up team and the National Drug Enforcement Agency (NDEA) officials.

At a press briefing on Wednesday 25 August, the Public Relations Officer of the NDEA Chief Inspector Abdoulie Ceesay revealed to journalists that upon the NDEA receiving intelligence information about a huge stock of cannabis at a village called Seewol just five kilometres away from Sibanor, the place was put on surveillance until 25 August when NDEA officials in collaboration with a military back up team raided the place during which a huge amount of cannabis was recovered.
