UniBank Ghana Limited has shown love to the Ashiaman flood victims by donating items worth about GH ¢4,000. The bank, which operates a branch in Ashiaman in the Greater Accra region, urged the flood victims never to lose hope but rather look into the future with optimism.

The items included 32 boxes of tin tomatoes, 20 bags of rice, 10 boxes of cooking oil and seven bags of used clothing. Making the presentation on behalf of the bank, David Nyanteh, Branch Manager for Ashiaman branch, pointed out that as a bank it did not only operate for profit, but rather support the society in which it operates.

'As part of our corporate social responsibility, we as a bank support developmental projects, especially in the area we operate.'

According to him, the financial intermediary was compelled by the request made by the flood victims to donate the items, which would go in a long way to wipe their tears.

Andre Asare Boadu, Corporate Affairs Executive, pledged the bank's support to especially the needy, adding that people should see UniBank as a bank that partners society.

Numo Adinortey, Municipal Chief Executive, on behalf of the assembly and the disaster committee commended UniBank, saying these items would go in a long way to erode their tears. You know, some people lost their relatives and items. We believe that the items would rekindle their lost hope.'

Alfred Agbesi, Member of Parliament of the area also commended the bank, and urged other banks to emulate UniBank's example. He urged all banks to partner the community they operate in, to help develop them.
