Angola: President Dos Santos Committed to Peace in Guinea Bissau

Luanda — The Angolan head of state, Jose Eduardo dos Santos, is committed to the resolution of the crisis in Guinea Bissau, cape verdian prime minister, Jose Maria Neves, considered today.

Addressing the press at the end of his 24-hour visit to Angola, the cape verdian premier said to have discussed with the angolan president bilateral cooperation and the situation in Guinea Bissau, stating thate he "felt that there is much desire on the part of President Dos Santos in resolving the crisis to finally have peace, a democratic state of law" in the portuguese speaking west african state.

He considererd that with the end of the crisis "the foundations will be laid for the global groeth and development" of Guinea Bissau. For the president of the island nation, Angola, as president of the Community of the Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), together with Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the United Nations may contribute for the stabilization, peace and consolidation of democvracy in Guinea Bissau.
