Angola: Priest Discourages Children From Going to Muxima Sanctuary

Luanda — The priest of Our Lady of Fatima, Manuel João "Father Casimiro", disapproved Tuesday here the inclusion of children in the pilgrimage to Shrine of Our Lady of Muxima, set to run from 03-04 September.

Speaking to Angop about the religious event, Father Casimiro said that due to kids' hyperactivity, many parents may not pay closer attention to their children in the site.

Meanwhile Francisco Lumuangano, the parish priest of Christ the King church, said that in order to guarantee children' safety it is not advisable that pilgrims are accompanied by youngsters.

The Muxima village is located at over 130 kilometres off the country's capital and existed since the earliest days of Portuguese colonial occupation.
