Angola: National Team Expected Wednesday With 17 Gold Medals

Luanda — Angola national team that attended from 20 to 23 August the international tournament of martial arts of Kickboxing, held in Santa Isabel, Sao Paulo, Brazil, will arrive Wednesday, Angop learnt from the chairperson of the association, Djamila Laborinho.

According to the source, Angolan team gained 17 gold medals, on the styles Full Contact, Thai boxing, Low Kick, Jiu Jitsu and Cock fight, being seven silver medals and 10 bronze medals, overcoming last participation in 2009 when the squad won only nine medals.

Here are the athletes:

Edgar Tavares (24 years old/60 kilograms), Rui Monteiro (24 years old/63 kg), Márcio Rangel (22 years old/55 kg), Rui Carvalho (28 years old/80 kg), Vando Ribeiro (21 years ld/73 kg), Celso Fernandes (20 years old/70 kg), Helton Esperança (25 years old/85 kg), Nazaré Morgado (21 years old/75 kg) and Anderson Castro (20 years old/70 kg).
