Three siblings from Malawi burned themselves to death after accusing their parents of teaching them witchcraft, police said on Wednesday.
The two sisters and their brother had been "praying hard until Tuesday night when they claimed they were tired of being taught witchcraft by their parents," according to police spokesman Davie Chingwalu.
He said the Manda siblings from Ndirande shantytown, south of the capital Blantyre, dragged furniture from their house and set it alight, before throwing themselves into the flames.
Two other family members were rescued by police.
Neighbours said their parents fled from the scene, fearing retaliation attacks.
The siblings were aged between 16 and 31.

Africa needs to do something about this tarnish and devilish behaviour; witchcraft as such isn't a beneficialry believes nor a developmental idea but a destructive one. Therefore, laws need to be enacted to curve the spread of this dangerous belief or practices. Our culture belief has always be a great traditional one not destructive one that is bend to destabilize people life and living conditions.
