Angola: Navy Staff Defends Cohesive Combative Preparation

Luanda — The need for an integral system of operative and educative patriotic preparation that secure the defence of the country's territorial waters, was defended Wednesday in Luanda by the chief of Staff of the Angola Navy (MGA), adm. Augusto Sebastião Lopes "Rocamonita".

The officer was speaking during the opening of the second period of the instruction and operative, combative and patriotic preparation for the 2010/2011 period.

According to Augusto Sebatiao Lopes, the moderninsation, development and permanent improvement of the functioning of the management organs comprising the organ, must secure efficacy in the accomplishment of the defence of the maritime space under its jurisdiction, including the strategic economic objectives on the Angolan offshore.

Rocamonita, who considered as positive the first period of instruction, for its level of organisation and planning, spoke of the need for an approach to the difficulties encountered.

He also spoke of the need for innovating ideas, in addressing the hurdles.
