Nairobi — A telephone chart for the terrorist bombing on Paradise Hotel in Kikambala was on Wednesday presented in court.
Testifying in a case in which three family members are facing charges of hosting al Qaeda mastermind Fazul Abdullah, a crime analyst attached to the Criminal Investigation Department headquarters, Mr Paul Mumo, said the chart touched on a prime suspect in the bombing preparation.
Mr Mumo, who was the 20th prosecution witness, said the telephones involved were in the country. One of them, he said, belonged to Fazul Abdulkarim, the main coordinator.
He told Mombasa senior principal magistrate Lillian Mutende that he prepared a terrorist communication chart of the day of the bombing, November 28, 2002, starting at 5am.
Mr Mumo, who was among the investigators and the chief analyst after the bombing, said that the coordinator was using a cellphone number belonging to Fazul Abdullah.
The witness got the data from a mobile phone service provider before writing a report.
Mr Mahfudh Ashur Hemed, his wife Luftiya Abubakar Bashrahil, and their son, Mr Ibrahim Mahfudh Ashur, are alleged to have hosted Fazul Abdullah on unknown dates between December 2007 and August 2, 2008.
The hearing continues.
