Angola: Artists' Association and Brilhante Foundation Establish Partnership

Luanda — The Angolan Artists and Composers Association (UNAC) and the Brilhante Foundation have decided to make a partnership to contribute to the efforts of development and promotion of arts in the country.

According to UNAC's secretary-general, Belmiro Carlos, who gave this information to ANGOP on Wednesday, this agreement comes from the fact that the two institutions have identified the existence of several areas in which they can act jointly.

To kick off, the two partners decided to organise a National Music Contest, aimed at discovering new talents and also to salute the National Culture Day.

They have also decided to promote a big show in Luanda to salute the National Independence Day (November 11), as well as other cultural activities in the north-eastern Lunda Norte Province, in the ambit of the celebrations of the date that marks that start of the national struggle against colonialism (February 04).

"Considering the financial and human efforts that will be needed, the partners decided to be open to the voluntary integration of other entities in this project, which is aimed at joining the efforts to retrieve and promote national culture" stressed Belmiro Carlos.

UNAC is a public institution that was created 29 years ago, which integrates and caters for the rights of composers, lyricists, musicians, artists in the fields of dance, theatre, choreography, circus, and agents of other forms of artistic expression.
