Bobby Williamson maintains he knows his Saturday team. He will, of course, first reduce his 10 midfielders with Tony Mawejje, Steven Bengo, Vincent Kayizzi, Hassan Wasswa, Mike Sserumaga, Dan Wagaluka, Patrick Ochan, Owen Kasule, Musa Mudde, Sula Matovu and David Obua all slot vying.
Hassan Wasswa
His stray passing late on in the match against Zambia's been basis of his criticism. But his versatility will win over Williamson. He defends as well as commands composure going forward. Cranes will need his occasional hard shot, too.
Tony Mawejje
It's a hidden secret that the coach believes in the IBV FC midfielder immensely. "Mawejje has been the best midfielder in the country for the past few years. He still is," said the Scottish manager yesterday. Wasswa's occupancy of deep six gives Mawejje freedom to think and create for the team, launching high and low balls to the left, right, and pinpoints through the middle to...
Stephen Bengo
He's been criticised for his 'excessive' weight but truth be said, apart from Obua, Matovu and Sserumaga, he is the only one who can use the ball and beat defenders. He's managed to shed off some kilos and he's lucky to have the coach's trust. Should the weight fail him, Obua can be drafted from the twin or ground can be broken for the young Matovu.
Vincent Kayizzi
With Wagaluka, the former livewire on the right flank, on the downward, Kayizzi is the best man to start against the Black Antelopes. He's runs, crossing, and fitness are not questionable. He's been well for FK Srem in Serbia. Not much debate on this.
Should these four start tomorrow? You have the answer.
