Freetown — With barely a month to go for the Commonwealth Games in Delhi, India, national weightlifting coach Sonny Johnson has revealed how they are currently undergoing intensive preparations for the Games.
With the Games set to kick-off from October 4-15, Johnson said they have set-up two training camps at the National Stadium Weight Lifting Gym and the Peace Keeping Force Gym as part of the preparations.
He said already the trainings have started and will run up to September 16, with sessions in a week - Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays - at the National Stadium Gym.
"The Peace Keeping Force Gym on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays hosts the teaching, video analysis, nutrition, research and arbitration aspects of the training, which normally last for two hours," Johnson said.
Meanwhile, the weightlifting coach further revealed that in mid September they will host the final training session at the National Stadium Gym of which lifters are expected to undergo training twice a day.
He said: "After these intensive trainings on September 27, I will conduct a final 'test power' at the National Stadium Gym."
