Angola: Welfare Department Assists Over 2000 Families in Kwanza Sul

Sumbe — At least 2.500 families affected by drought in the localities of Capolo and Gungo, coastal Kwanza Sul Province, are being assisted with essential goods by the provincial department of welfare and social reintegration.

This was said to ANGOP, on Thursday, by the provincial director of welfare and social reintegration department, Manuel Macedo. According to him, the assistance consists of the supply of foodstuff.

The director said that the populations of Capolo and Gungo localities are experiencing difficult moments on the account of the lack of rain in the respective regions.

"The rain dried the farms and that is why the families do not have food for their subsistence", he said. According to the director, the sector will continue to support the families who were affected by the drought.
