Liberia: Firestone Liberia to Host Scholarship Awards Ceremony

The Management of Firestone Liberia is expected to host a scholarship awards ceremony for deserving students who have been qualified to benefit from the company's Scholarship Program for the 2010/2011 academic year.

According to a statement issued by the Scholarship Committee, the ceremony has been scheduled for Thursday, September 2, 2010, beginning at 4:00 p.m. at the Harbel Field House. The Principal of the Booker Washington Institute, Mulbah Jackollie, is expected to serve as Keynote Speaker.

The committee's statement is also quoted as saying that a total of ninety (99) students will be awarded scholarship for the coming academic year. The scholarship recipients are expected to enroll in various primary and secondary schools as well as universities throughout Liberia.

. The Firestone Scholarship committee further announced that it has awarded scholarship to four students of the Firestone Senior High School who scored Division Two in the recent West African Examinations. The Committee's statement named the students as Molley Banny, Sylivan Boakai, Morlue Gobeh and Aaron Mineen.

It can be recalled that Firestone Liberia held similar program in honor of students who were beneficiaries of its 2009/2010 Scholarship Program.

Meanwhile, according to the Public Affairs Manager of Firestone Liberia, G. Rufus Karmorh, scholarship recipients, their parents and well wishers are advised to be seated at 3:45 p.m. for this all-important educational program.

Thursday's ceremony is expected to be graced by the presence of the President and Managing Director of Firestone Liberia, Mr. Charles E. Stuart and other departmental heads of the company.
