Namibia: Cricketers Maintain Unbeaten Run

Namibia maintained their winning streak by beating Sierra Leone by 192 runs on day three of the ICC U/19 Africa World Cup qualifiers.

Batsman Gerhard Lotter led the Namibians, notching up 150, in a very one- sided match played at the 'Windhoek Afrikaanse Privaat Skool' (WAP) oval.

Namibia posted a formidable 263, this after they were stumbling at 82 for 6. However, Sierra Leone was never in the hunt and lost wickets with regularity as they ended with 71 all out.

Namibia's Christopher Coombe was the pick of the bowlers with 4 for 26. A fine 82 by Kenyan batsman Duncan Allan put them in the driving seat against east African neighbors Tanzania at the Wanderers, which ensured they also kept their unbeaten run intact.

Kenya were eventually bowled out in the 46th over, but not after posting an unassailable 209. The Tanzanians were unable to match the team effort of their counterparts on the field and were bowled out for 109, 100 runs shy of the target.

Botswana knocked off the top seeded Uganda in a surprise win. Having won the toss, and elected to bat first, Botswana set a 212 target in their 50 overs.

Varun Vijayakumar notched up a wonderful 87, with his teammate Ajanthan Sridaran, 6 for 38 in 10 overs, the pick of the bowlers for the day. In pursuit, Uganda lost their wickets regularly and were all out for 115.

Zambia recorded their first win of the qualifiers as they beat Nigeria by 68 runs.

Lawrence Mutale was the best batsman for Zambia with 47 in 67 balls. Nigeria's batsmen failed to get any cohesive partnerships together.
