Angola: Pilgrims Transportation Must Be Done Carefully

Luanda — The Special Traffic Brigade (BET) will not allow passengers being transported in load carrying vehicles to the Muxima Sanctuary, without having minimum accommodation and safety conditions.

Speaking to ANGOP, the spokesman of BET, sub- inspector João Pereira said that in order to handle the situation it will be necessary the installing of bench seats in heavy goods vehicles. According to the officer to grant a better transport under these terms it is necessary to abide by traffic norms and guarantee that passengers be seated properly.

At least 250 officers of Traffic Police from Luanda and Bengo started Thursday a campaign of prevention and surveillance on the roads that lead to Muxima village, during the pilgrimage to the Our Lady of Muxima shrine, to be held from 04 to 05 September.
