Eritrea: Placing Label Marks On Products Described Vital

Asmara — Building human capacity and introducing advanced equipments are imperative for the success of efforts to ensure the quality and standard of various items produced in the country, stated Eng. Debesai Zeraburuk, in charge of arranging national standards in the Eritrean Standards Institution.

He told ERINA that ensuring public health is the primary objective of the institution, and stressed the need for any product be it food stuff or others produced in the country having clear marks both in terms of content and quality, besides familiarizing such items with consumers.

The head of quarantine office in the Health Ministry, Mr. Abraham Tesfaslasie, said on his part that every enterprise is duty-bound to place label marks on products. In this respect, he called on all establishments in general and the concerned government institutions in particular to make the necessary inspection.
