Eritrea: General Public Called Upon to Enhance Participation in Promoting Environmental Sanitation

Keren — The head of environmental sanitation in the Health Ministry, Dr. Kesete Araya, called on the general public to step up contribution towards promoting sound ecology.

In a lecture he gave to staff members of the Ministry's branch in Anseba region, Dr. Kesete highlighted the need for the public to reinforce environmental and personal sanitation so as to prevent diseases resulting from insanitation.

The head of the Ministry's branch office in the region, Mr. Zekarias Ogbaslasie, said on his part that there are plans to build toilets in an expanded manner in different corners of the region so as to prevent the spread of diseases.

In closing remarks, the head of social service in Anseba region, Ms. Zeineb Omar, noted that the initiatives taken by some sub-zones in the construction of toilets is commendable that need to be emulated by other sub-zones. She particularly lauded the exciting dedication in Halhal sub-zone in the implementation of the project.
