Eritrea: Various Activities Carried Out in Support of Martyrs' Families in Anseba Region

Halhal — Various activities are being carried out in support of martyrs' families and needy citizens in different parts of Anseba region through the coordinated endeavors of the general public and members of the Defense Force.

Accordingly, over 180 hectares in the administrative areas of Mai-Awalid, Enrekubet, Halhal and Fenshebeku have been cultivated through popular campaign, in addition to undertaking weeding activities in farmlands belonging to 320 martyrs' families. Besides, residential houses have been constructed for 6 needy families in Mai-Awalid administrative area, according to Mr. Emaha Gebrewahid, head of administration and finance in Halhal sub-zone.

Moreover, the inhabitants of Begu administrative area, Hagaz sub-zone, cultivated farm plots of 62 families of fallen heroes, besides undertaking weeding activities on about 70 hectares.

The Administrator of Begu, Mr. Nesredin Ali Bekit, said that assisting martyrs' families and needy compatriots represents the noble culture of the Eritrean people, and that such support would continue in an enhanced manner.

The beneficiaries expressed satisfaction with the genuine initiatives taken, and commended the continued support being extended on the part of the people and the Government.
