Nigeria: Kano Sells 27,000 Bags of Subsidized Grains

Kano — The Kano State government has sold over 27,000 bags of grains to people in the state at subsidized rate. The exercise, which lasted for five days was conducted at 100 different points in Kano metropolis, according to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Alhaji Baffa Bello.

He said of the 27, 696 bags of grains set aside for sale this year, 25,000 bags had been sold. He added that each bag of maize was sold at N2,000 while sorghum was sold at N1,700 per bag.
