Angola: Telecommunications Still Seeking Better Services

Luanda — The general manager of the Angolan Institute of Communications (INACOM), Domingos Pedro António, said Monday here that the services provided by the sector of telecommunications in the country are not yet desired.

Domingos António expressed this fact at the opening of workshop on "management of conflict" in Portuguese and Spanish speaking African countries, running till 8 September in Luanda.

According to Domingos António, his institution is aware of efforts made by both the government and telecommunication institutions focussed on improvement of the services provided by the sector to the population.

To better the services delivered by the sector, the official added, the telecommunications should not restrict to the large investments, as the quality of service depends on the improvement of other fields such as the energy, on which depends the regular function of this services.

The event which is intended to share experience among the technicians selected by International Telecommunications Union (ITU), also gathered experts from Sao Tome and Principe, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau, Mozambique and Equatorial Guinea.
