THE power struggle storm in the Karas' Region Football, which also led to an indefinite postponement of the recently held annual general meeting (AGM), to elect new leadership, has not settled yet.
In a statement issued last week, Joseph 'Kilo' Isaacks, who is vying for chairmanship against incumbent chairman Harry Jahs, claimed the indefinite postponement was to foil his change to have landed in the chairmanship position.
Claims by Jahs, that alleged ineligible delegates rooted the postponement, was just a trick to have it called off indefinitely in fear of him being unseated, said Isaacks.
"It was merely an attempt to reduce a faction that was hell-bent on removing him in favour of me," said Isaacks.
Pointing reference to NFA president seat that would be up for grabs at the upcoming congress, Isaacks added: "It was a blatant attempt by Jahs to avoid elections before the NFA congress so as to deliver his vote John Muinjo".
Muinjo and Ranga Haikali will be competing for the NFA presidential seat.
Isaaks also claimed Karas Football Regions' AGM is being "manipulated" by NFA to secure that Jahs retains his seat by any means.
"This will no doubt further fuel Ranga Haikali's suspicion that the NFA Secretariat is using illegal means to foil his attempts to unseat Muinjo. There was wide spread speculation at the start of the presidential race that John Muinjo may have secured adequate votes for a second term, but the event of Karas, and the withdrawal of Dr. Amutenya from the NFA presidential race proof that it would be a close race," Isaacks remarked.
Isaacks admitted that the meeting has reached a deadlock over dispute on the eligibility of the delegates plus the postponement of the meeting.
But, added that if Jahs had acted in the parameters of the statutes this could have not happened.
Commenting Jahs reiterated that refusal of uninvited delegates to leave the meeting was the only reason for it being called off indefinitely.
"My actions, to have the meeting postponed, were guided by the statutes," he added.
He said the region's executive body is set to meet within two weeks, to decide on a date for the AGM.
"I have pleaded with the uninvited delegates, to excuse the meeting for it to continue, but this has fallen on deaf ears, and the end result was the indefinite postponement," said Jahs.
