A high powered delegation of the Dutch Company APM Terminals last week paid a courtesy call on the management of the National Port Authority.

In a welcome statement in the NPA conference room, the Managing Director Madam Matilda W. Parker said she was exceedingly gratified by the visit and expressed the hope of a cordial working atmosphere between the Port Authority and the concessionaries. The NPA Boss pointed out efforts by the port administration and the Government towards rehabilitating facilities of the institution which was devastated by the civil crisis in Liberia.

She further stressed the welfare of employees in terms of benefits and manpower development as key priorities that need consideration. In response, the Head of delegation and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Partner & Group, A.P. Moller-Maersk, Mr. Nils S. Anderson, expressed thanks to Madam Parker for the warm reception and reiterated his organization's commitment to the rehabilitation of the port facilities.

Mr. Anderson highlighted the importance of cooperation and cordiality as key factors for enhancing sustainable development. He assured of his institution's preparedness to live up to expectation. The team was taken on a guided tour of key areas of the Freeport, including the new container terminal, the Marginal Wharf and the Close Circuit Television Room among others.
