Eritrea: Construction of Water Sources to Be Stepped Up in Logo-Anseba Sub-Zone

Barentu — The Administrator of Logo-Anseba sub-zone, Mr. Osman Mohammed Furuj, highlighted the need for reinforcing the task of constructing micro-dams and water reservoirs so as to enrich underground water resource and boost production.

He explained that the construction of such water sources is imperative in conserving every drop of rain and raising productivity, as the area is characterized with ridged valley that is difficult for cultivation.

Mr. Osman further stated that farmlands in the area are in good condition and that the local inhabitants are actively engaged in agricultural activities encouraged by the existing good rainy season.

The Administrator of Deda administrative area, Mr. Andai Hidru, said on his part that good rains still keep on showering and that the previously damaged water reservoirs have been renovated for the benefit of the inhabitants.

Logo-Anseba is one of the 14 sub-zones in Gash-Barka region.
