Uganda: Mugabe Bows Out in Round One

Kampala — Duncan Mugabe now has his eyes on the Rwanda F1 Futures tennis tournament after being bundled out of the Burundi F1 Futures on day one in Bujumbura.

The Ugandan player seeded five was shocked by unseeded Belgian Marco Dierckx 6-3,6-4 on Monday. "It was a tough draw against a good player for Mugabe, but we expect him to recover in the next leg," Cedric Babu, his manager said. "He still has more to fight for in the next legs."

The East African tennis ace also lost in the doubles with his Egyptian mate Karim Kadry to Saudi Arabian Zaki Al Abdullah and Nigerian Clifford Enosoregbe 6-3,7-6(4). He will now set his focus on the Rwanda Futures.
