PATRIOTIC Front (PF) Mwense Member of Parliament (MP) Jacob Chongo has said the resignation of Chileshe Mulenga from the opposition party is a sign that PF leader Michael Sata is a poor leader who cannot be entrusted with leadership of the nation.
And former PF secretary general Charles Chimumbwa has challenged Dr Mulenga to tell the Zambian people the deepening differences and divisions in the opposition party.
Mr Chongo said in Lusaka yesterday that the resignation of people from the party was a demonstration that the PF leader cannot be entrusted with leadership.
In a separate interview, Mr Chimubwa who resigned as the opposition party's secretary general and parliamentarian said there are serious divisions in the PF.
"Dr Mulenga should not hide in the undemocratic tendencies which we have already told the Zambian people let, him expose the differences that exist. We know there are serious differences," he said.
He said it is up to the Zambian people to decide whether Mr Sata's leadership style was the kind of leadership they want.
"We have said it all, it's now up to the Zambians to decide. We have told Zambians everything about the undemocratic tendencies of the man. In fact there is a difference between me and Dr Mulenga he was deputy secretary general when I left why wasn't he made secretary general when I left?" he said.
Forum for Leadership Search (FLS) executive director Edwin Lifwekelo said the resignation of Dr Mulenga had exposed the PF leader's dictatorial tendencies.
Mr Lifwekelo who is also a former secretary general of the PF said Mr Sata has a tendency of imposing people on positions.
Dr Mulenga resigned from the PF on Monday and declined an appointment by Mr Sata to be the party's chairperson for the research bureau citing the party's failure to uphold its constitution.
