Zambia: Kitwe MMD Chief Condemns Sata

MMD Kitwe District chairperson George Lungu has challenged opposition Patriotic Front (PF) leader Michael Sata to explain to the Zambian people how his party would address the various challenges of the economy if it formed Government.

Mr Lungu said Mr Sata should not thrive on politics of insults and hatred, but should explain how his party would tackle the various problems the country was facing.

He said at a Press briefing in Kitwe yesterday that the PF rally addressed by Mr Sata at Freedom Park in Kitwe last weekend was hollow and a clear indication that the opposition party had nothing to offer to the country.

Mr Lungu said the failure by the PF leader to explain what programmes his party had for education, health, tourism, mining, agriculture and other sectors of the economy showed that the political party was just making noise to remind people of its existence.

"We thought the PF leadership would make its programme of action known at the Kitwe rally, but to the contrary, it was just waffling and attacking President Rupiah Banda, the first lady and Copperbelt Minister Mwansa Mbulakulima. PF has proved that it has nothing to offer," Mr Lungu said.
