Zambia: New KCM Spokesperson Unveiled

KONKOLA Copper Mines (KCM) has appointed Jacqueline Kabeta as its new company spokesperson, replacing Rahul Kharkar.

A statement announced the appointment of Ms Kabeta to the position of manager - corporate affairs with effect from September 1, 2010.

The statement said Ms Kabeta would be responsible for media relations, Government interactions, liaison and anchoring strategic initiatives of KCM for stakeholders, employees and the community.

Ms Kabeta holds a Master of Arts degree in journalism and media studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication.

She has more than 15 years experience working in capacity building, independent media development and advocacy, research, monitoring and evaluation, communication for development, mainstream media, senior management and corporate governance.

Mr Kharkar has been redeployed within the KCM structure and Ms Kabeta has acknowledged her appointment.
