Tanzania: CBA Trains Lake Zone Enterpreneurs

Mwanza — THE Commercial Bank of Africa (CBA) Tanzania has offered training to entrepreneurs in the Lake Zone to enable them manage effectively their businesses and finance.

The Bank's Head of Retail Banking, Mr David Shambwe, said that the training objectives were to enlighten participants on various services that the bank offers.

He said other objectives of the course were to underscore the importance of book-keeping and insurance of their assets. Participants were also given training on business registration, use of financial institutions in grooming businesses and the relation between a family and business.

Mr Shambwe said it was high time that businessmen learnt the importance of using bank services and stop keeping money in their homes. He said money in bank circulation is supposed to be separated from private use and business. The manager said proper book-keeping and consistent cash flow was crucial since it facilitates easy access to bank loans.

Mr Shambwe reminded the entrepreneurs that it was important for them to secure documentation of their property since they were essential in accessing banking services including loans.

The seminar was attended by more than 200 entrepreneurs and co-ordinated by the CBA officials. CBA has branches in Dar es Salaam, Mbeya and Mwanza.
