Ghana: Implement What You Learn -Tetteh Enyo Tells Students

The minister of Education, Alex Tetteh-Enyo, has indicated that misapplied knowledge among school children is as dangerous as illiteracy.

According to him, as the nation had offered graduates the opportunity to acquire knowledge, it was the right of the nation also, to demand much from them, and that they must be prepared to deliver.

The Minister was speaking at the 44th Annual Graduation Ceremony of the Ghana Christian University College (GCUC) in Accra.

Speaking on the theme; 'Role of transformational leaders in nation building,' Mr. Tetteh-Enyo noted that it was very appropriate that in moments like this, efforts are made to improve the lots of Ghanaians for the 'Better Ghana' agenda.

He said transforming students into transformational leaders, required orientation processes from the very moment they start their tertiary education.

The Minister continued that quality assurance divisions and departments should be created in the educational sector, to complement the efforts of the monitoring institutions.

He said this would ensure that internal quality was maintained in both teaching and learning.

He as well, commended the university for its water project in the Amrahia community.

Mr. Tetteh Enyo mentioned that the school had added to the development agenda of the Adenta municipality, and that the government would do its best to support it.

However, he urged the students to continue pursuing perfection, bearing in mind that there was nothing too difficult for them to accomplish.

The president of the university, Dr. Manuel Budu-Adjei, on his part, noted that the institute was in partnership with the University of Wales.

The move, he said, was to ensure academic excellence, through leadership development.

He indicated that there would not be a better Ghana, unless everyone upheld the principle of spiritual and social transformation.
