Nigeria defender Joseph Yobo has revealed one of his experiences at his former club Everton was when he had to be under intense pressure not to play for the Super Eagles.
Yobo left the English side last month to sign for Turkish giants Fenerbache and admitted he is relieved over the move. But concedes his commitment to Nigeria has probably cost him his Everton career. "During that period, I was under intense pressure. But now, I am very much relieved and I can now give my one hundred percent to the game. It was not easy for me, but I thank God that all is over."
Despite international commitments having cost him dearly at one club, Yobo insists that he will not compromise on his national team duties. "I have said it time and time again, my national assignment remains paramount to me whenever I'm going into any contract. We don't need to deceive ourselves, Nigeria still remains our country. This is where we will return after club assignments, so the interest of my country is well protected in my new club."

Well next time in your life, i suggest you don't miss everton games when you know you were going to be playing for nigeria a few days later, that is why you where shown the back door at everton. Such a shame, i actually met Yobo years ago when he was first with everton and yes he is commited but to his country over everyone else, and that is fine unless you want a wage from your club. but good luck anyway Joey
