Freetown — Embattled Leone Stars skipper, Ibrahim Kargbo aka Obreh has revealed he will guide the current crop of young players in the national team to the 2012 African Nations Cup in Equatorial Guinea & Gabon.
In an exclusive interview with Concord Sports, the former Williem II midfielder said he will do all he can on the pitch to see that Sierra Leone reach the continent's greatest football event once more.
"I am determined as captain to lead this team to the Nations Cup," Obreh said, adding that they are determined as a team to achieve that and individually it is a challenge for them.
"I believe with the support of all Sierra Leoneans and the government, we all can achieve that. The result against Egypt has specially motivated us and we are determined to achieve that," Obreh added.
Obreh, who was denied the captain's arm band for his outburst prior to the Egypt clash, said every misunderstanding between them (the players) and the football association has been resolved, adding that they are now focusing on qualifying the team.
Ahead of the South Africa game, the FC Baku utility man said they are eager to achieve nothing but the maximum points.
"It is not going to be an easy ride for us but we need the maximum points to increase our chances of qualifying. The good thing for us is that we are playing at home and we must make use of that advantage," Obreh said.

I watched the match between Egypt and Sierra Leone. I was very impressed with the performance of the Leone Stars in Cairo. Many of the Egyptians could not believe what they saw from the Leone Stars. At one point the commentators were saying that they expected countries like: Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroun,Ivory Coast,Senegal or others to give them hard time and not small Sierra Leone.
Well, this is the game of football. You play it with your foot and only one man can hold it with his hands and that is, the Goal Keeper. My admirations particularly go to the Leone Stars Keeper. He did a remarkable job on that field in Egypt, supported by the players. All I can say is BRAVO TO LEONE STARS'.
And here is my advise to the Leone Stars. 1.Speed:Whenever you're playing the Arab Boys you must maintain a very fast speed(running)on the field of play. If you can't catch their speed you must be able to stop them before they enter your 18 yards box. Most of the Leone Stars Boys were lacking in their speed. 2. Accurate Passes: The passes from the boys must be accurate so it doesn't fall to the leg or head of the opponent. The Arab boys are so fast and they believe in their running ability to over take their opponents. The passes of the Leone Stars boys, most were landing to the favour of the Arab boys. 3. Fouls:Leone Stars must avoid playing many fouls in their games.Eventhough, the two teams did commit more fouls during the game. This should be avoided because not all Referees are the same in their decisions. Some Referees are very harsh, bais and unethical in their decision.Example, the Referee in the World Cup Game that Ghana was cheated. The next Game with the Egyptians,we want to see all the Leone Stars Internationals on the Field.
To all the Officials, the Players, the people of Salone and the Government, for supporting the boys in that first match.I pray that the Government continue to support the Leone Stars in all their endevours as they represent Sierra Leone.
