Namibia: Brave Warriors Accept India Invite

THE Brave Warriors have accepted an invitation by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) to play it's national side in Delhi next week.

The lowly ranked cricket-crazed Indians will take on a Brave Warriors team comprised of locally based players only, as the match does not fall within Fifa's international schedule. Coach Tom Sainfiet said his charges would treat the low-key friendly international as a warm-up for the Cosafa Senior Challenge Cup in November.

"It is not a necessary friendly. This is an opportunity to use those players who are trying to get into Brave Warriors."

"Maybe it's an opportunity for some of our players to land professional contracts in the Indian league," Rukoro said about the motivation behind the NFA accepting a midweek friendly against the South Asians.

India is ranked 21 positions below Namibia, at 136 in the world, on the current Fifa rankings.

"Their national league might be better than our league, and this might be the exposure our players need to improve their game."

Saintfiet recalled strikers Jerome Louis and Roger Katjiteo, goalkeeper Max Mbaeva, defenders Michael Pienaar and Nelson Geingob, midfielders Rudi Louw and Eslin Kamuhanga.

They will re-enforce the remainder of the team that lost to Gambia on Saturday.

The rest of the team comprises of Athiel Mbaha, Virgil Vries, Hartman Toromba, Richard Gariseb, Steven Goagub, Jamunovandu Ngatjizeko, Gottlieb Nakuta, Ninja Karongee, Quinton Jacobs, Edward Asino, Heini Isaacs and Alfred Ndyenge.
