Hypertension can be blamed for sadly ending Sammi's BBA All Stars experience. Nevertheless, the good news is that the 35-year-old Ghanaian is well, and could not cut back on the jokes during our interview yesterday. Sammi, who thanks to his huge boep pens was often referred to as 'pregnant Sammi', hinted that he may come to Namibia soon. Read on and find out what else Sammi revealed:
Sammi how are you? How is your health?
I'm well, I'm stabilised now and am taking my medication and regular walks. There are no false alarms at the moment. There is absolutely nothing to worry about.
Let's go way back to your first BBA experience. What have you been up to since then?
Well ... I did a lot of radio and television presenting, I was doing music but I was not fully into it at at the beginning as I was still an upcoming artist. However, I've established myself now and am doing more radio presenting, I'm doing shows over weekends and travel a lot with these shows. My musical career is now more established and my friends and I even have equipment to record music videos for other artists who request for our services.
How did you feel when you got the call to return for the BBA All Stars?
It was like one of those days where you owe people money and you kind of don't know what you're going to do and all of a sudden you get a call and it's a familiar voice on the other end ... right away you just know that you are going to get good news. Getting the news that I was going to be a part of BBA All Stars was exciting and I knew it was going to be fun.
How would you sum up your All Stars experience?
Well, it has given me a lot of mileage and I have taken it in good faith though I was unable to be in the house until the end. Friendships have obviously been developed and as housemates we have decided to keep in touch once everyone is out of the house and with some of the housemates there will even be business ventures.
In the house, you revealed your secret, that you had a child who passed away. How did you feel about revealing that secret?
It was something that we had to do and I felt comfortable doing it. There was nothing wrong with it.
Your ex-girlfriend Juliet was your guest during your first week in The Barn. Is anything going to come out of that or are you guys just friends?
Well I've not even seen Juliet since I came out of the house. I guess she's busy. But nothing will come out of that at all. Full stop.
What are your future plans? Do you plan on settling down, maybe have a family?
When that does happen, it will show itself and I assure you, you will be the first person to know!
Seeing that you were the oldest housemate this time round, were there times when you felt out, like you didn't belong a bit?
Well, sometimes it felt like that ... other times I felt I just had to find something to do to distract myself from that reality. I've learnt that in life you have to learn to deal with situations the best way you can wherever you may find yourself. Certain lifestyles can make it difficult for you to live but you have to learn to adjust ... that's what I did.
How did you find the Barn?
Interesting ... very very interesting. I mean the chickens, blah blah, the cow, and Hannington and I were very serious with our task. It was fun. We used to see that guy who used to milk the cow for us thus it was fun. Besides, there is nothing like waking up in the morning and not knowing what the time is ... (laughs).
Who was your favourite house mate?
Everybody is my worst housemate and also my favourite housemate at the same time. It all depends on how well we get on but I would say everybody in the house is my friend.
Who amongst the female house mates did you find most desirable?
The word "desirable" is a big word. However, I was friends with Paloma but that was it ... I really liked Jen but I knew where to end my like. Lerato and I could talk but that was all and I also like Meryl ...
Who would you say is the most outrageous housemate?
No I can't say. I want to be fair to all of them
Who do you think is going to win and why?
To be honest, I don't know who will win. All I know is that one person will win depending on who Africa decides to vote for.
A lot of things are in the pipeline but I can't really get into all of them. For starters, you can tell your Minister of Tourism to send some tickets my way so that we can come and chill by the lake side.
Any last words?
I will pay a visit to Namibia one of these days and it is going to be a lot of fun.
