Nigeria: Nation at 50 - A Positive Discourse

As we celebrate our country's 50th independence anniversary, this is the time for stock taking. In doing this, one question readily comes to mind. The question is: "what have you done as an individual to make Nigeria better or to make Nigeria live up to the ideal you have of her?"

I consider this question very important because I have noticed a tendency among many Nigerians to speak so negatively about their country. They daily curse their nation by saying it is a useless place, forgetting that they are indirectly cursing themselves because citizens of a useless country must be useless people! Some counsel those who take their jobs seriously not to do so allegedly because their hard work will not be appreciated.
