Angola: Writers Union Pays Tribute to First President

Luanda — The tourist triangle and historical-cultural Kanawa Mussulo and Angolan Writers Union will hold Tuesday in Luanda a conference on the theme "Let's celebrate the abolition of slavery- Agostinho Neto, poet of freedom".

According to a press release delivered to Angop, the conference to be lectured by the historian, Simão Souindoula, is part of celebrations of National Hero's Day, on September 17.

The event is intended to pay tribute to the poet, founding member and first chairperson of assembly table of the Angola's Union Writers.

The conference, scheduled for 21 September, is open to all writers, historians, professors, researchers, students, journalists and the interested public.
